The Kesko Group's sales, excluding VAT, in October 2013 totalled EUR826.9 million, down 2.5%.

 

In Kesko's food trade, sales in October were EUR391.9 million, an increase of 3.2% compared to the previous year.

 

In the home and speciality goods trade, sales in October were EUR126.5 million, a decrease of 11.5%. Sales performance was particularly impacted by the decrease in department store sales, as well as network changes in Musta Pörssi and Intersport Russia.

 

In the building and home improvement trade, sales in October were EUR239.7 million, a decrease of 7.5%. In terms of local currencies and excluding the impact of retailer changes in Norway, sales increased by 2.1%. Sales in Finland were at the previous year's level. Sales abroad decreased by 12.8% in terms of euros. In terms of local currencies and excluding the impact of retailer changes in Norway, sales growth in foreign operations was 3.4%.

 

In the car and machinery trade, sales in October were EUR85.4 million, an increase of 3.4%. VV-Auto's sales in October were EUR68.8 million, up 11.4%. Konekesko's sales in October were EUR16.7 million, a decrease of 20.3% from the previous year.

In October 2013, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was 23, which was the same as in the previous year. The total number of selling days in January-October was the same as in the previous year. The number of retail selling days in October was 31, which was the same as in the previous year. The total number of retail selling days in January-October was one less than in the previous year.
