Edinburgh Most Expensive European City On New Year's Eve

Only marginally cheaper is Iceland's coastal capital Reykjavik, which ranks as the second most expensive European city on New Year's Eve with a cheapest rate of £296 – an increase of 469% compared to regular rates. The Dutch capital Amsterdam completes the top three with a minimum rate of £236 (an increase of 572%).

Only marginally cheaper is Iceland's coastal capital Reykjavik , which ranks as the second most expensive European city on New Year's Eve with a cheapest rate of £296 – an increase of 469% compared to regular rates. The Dutch capital Amsterdam completes the top three with a minimum rate of £236 (an increase of 572%).

Least expensive among the cities surveyed is the Greek capital Athens with a rate of £27, while also on the cheaper end is the Russian capital Moscow , where you should find a room for below £50 on New Year's Eve .

The following table shows the 10 most expensive European destinations for New Year's Eve . The rates shown reflect the price for the cheapest available double room on 31 December. Only centrally located hotels rated at least three stars and with positive average guest reviews were considered. A comparison with regular rates is also shown in brackets, reflecting the price for the most affordable double room on 7 January.
