Chinese Porcelain Record to be Smashed in 2014?
The sports lottery have unveiled odds after a tiny porcelain cup, dating back to the Ming Dynasty, fetched $36m (£21.5m) at recent auction in Hong Kong .
FCBodog.com suggest odds of 4-6 that figure will be broken BEFORE January 31, 2014 or you can get 11-10 that the record will be broken AFTER that date.
The 500-year-old "chicken cup", so-called because it is decorated with a rooster and hen tending to their chicks, was bought by a Shanghai collector.
Auction house Sotheby's said the previous record for Chinese porcelain was set in 2010 when a vase sold for $32.4m (£19.3m).
Josh Willis from Bodog commented: "This exciting record proves that there is a real appetite for Chinese porcelain, particularly among the China market. We would not be surprised to see things hot up this year and our odds show that."
