The Kesko Group's sales, excluding VAT, in August 2013 totalled EUR825.3 million, down 6.5%.

 

In Kesko's food trade, sales in August were EUR378.4 million, a decrease of 3.1% compared to the previous year. In August, the number of delivery days was one less than in the previous year.

 

In the home and speciality goods trade, sales in August were EUR122.9 million, a decrease of 12.8%. Sales performance was particularly impacted by the decrease in department store sales, as well as network changes in Musta Pörssi and Intersport Russia. Sales were up in Finland in Intersport and Budget Sport.

 

In the building and home improvement trade, sales in August were EUR249.8 million, a decrease of 9.0%. Excluding the impact of retailer changes in Norway, the sales decreased by 4.0%. Sales in Finland were down 4.2%. Sales abroad decreased by 12.3% in terms of euros and by 8.1% in terms of local currencies. In August, the number of delivery days was one less than in the previous year.

 

In the car and machinery trade, sales in August were EUR88.5 million, a decrease of 4.0%. VV-Auto's sales in August were EUR54.4 million, down 8.0%. Konekesko's sales in August were EUR34.1 million, an increase of 2.6% from the previous year.

In August 2013, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was 22, which was one less than in the previous year. The total number of selling days in January-August was one less than in the previous year. The number of retail selling days in August was 31, which was the same as in the previous year. The total number of retail selling days in January-August was one less than in the previous year.
