Punters Choose Alexandra as Name of Royal Baby
As the Duchess of Cambridge's expected due date approaches punters are backing Alexandra to be the name of the Royal Baby.
Betfred spokesman Mark Pearson ,
"A baby girl has been the odds on favourite for a while but in the last 24 hours all the money has been for Alexandra who is now the evens favourite after a right royal gamble."
Alexandra is the Queen's middle name while next in the betting is Charlotte at 6/1.
Elizabeth, also in honour of the child's Great Grandmother is 8/1, while Victoria and Diana are both 10/1 along with George and James.
Bookmakers Betfred are sponsoring the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket on Friday. The race will be run at 2.10 and Betfred are offering 10/1 that the new arrival is born before the race
