Harris and UWS Celebrate 10th Anniversary with $640K in Scholarships
Over the last decade Harris and UWS have pioneered accelerated post secondary education. Two hundred and forty-four students have benefitted from advanced academic credentials, senior faculty exchanges, international work placements and artist tours managed by students.
"Our unique partnership has enabled students from Canada and the UK to have unprecedented educational experiences", says John Harris , Harris Institute's founder. "These scholarships will allow individuals from around the world to benefit from a one-of-a-kind academic opportunity".
Ten students will each receive full scholarships to earn Audio Production Program (APP) and Arts Management Program (AMP) Diplomas in 20 months at Harris Institute in Toronto, Canada and a Master's Degree in Sound Production, Songwriting or Music Industries in 12 months at the University of the West of Scotland in Glasgow / Ayr and their new campus in London, England .
Harris Institute is the only school outside the US in 'Top 11 Schools'. It ranked #1 in the 'Media Arts Education Report' and was featured in 'Audio Education's Finest' and 'Schools That Rock'. UWS is Scotland's largest modern university with campuses in Ayr , Dumfries , Glasgow , Hamilton , Paisley and London, England . Its music related programs have ranked in the top 5 in the UK for student satisfaction. It is the only school with Master's Degree Programs in Sound Production, Songwriting and Music Industries.
