Content, Innovation and M&A to Feature Heavily in Prague
New terrestrial links are being seen as a key driver of growth across the Central European wholesale telecoms market as demand grows for alternative routes for international traffic, to reduce reliance on subsea cables through the Red Sea. According to industry estimates approximately 95% of international voice and data traffic between Europe and Asia passes through this fibre-optic corridor, creating a bottleneck for inter-regional subsea routes. The CE market offers a valuable alternative to these existing subsea cable routes.
Combined with the recent M&A and consolidation across the region, the demand for data doubling every 18 months and content providers making provisions for data expansion in Central Europe , this region is quickly becoming the hottest market in 2014.
Key agenda themes include monetising fibre, content innovation, M&A, the future of disruptive technologies and outlining the infrastructure required to cope with the growing bandwidth within the region.
A huge focus of this year's agenda is on brand-new networking opportunities (Breakfast with Poland and the Networking Exchange 2.0), designed specifically for attendees to maximise every meeting, establish new connections and build on existing ones, including more attendance from T2 and T3 service providers.
