AACSB International Names Timothy Mescon as Senior Vice President and Chief Officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa
"Collectively, Europe , the Middle East and Africa host more than 3,700 institutions that offer business degrees," said John J. Fernandes , president and chief executive officer of AACSB International. "As a global leader in management education, it is time for AACSB to step forward and provide a greater level of guidance and support."
"Tim's notable 36 years in academia, his extensive experience as an AACSB peer review team member and chair, service on numerous committees, and celebrated accomplishments in the entrepreneurship field will provide the necessary expertise needed to advance innovation and excellence in business schools across the entire EMEA region," continued Fernandes.
Mescon became Columbus State University's fourth president in August 2008 . Previously, he was dean for 18 years at the Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University , and founding dean of the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University in Maryland . He also served on the faculties of Arizona State University and the University of Miami , and as a visiting lecturer at universities in England , China and Israel .
Mescon is the co-author of four books, and has published more than 200 articles and case studies. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia , an MBA from Southern Methodist University and a B.A. from Tulane University .
