Tele2 Russia and State Radio Institute begin tests of LTE technology over 1800 MHz frequencies in Omsk

Stockholm - Tele2 AB (Tele2), (NASDAQ OMX Stockholm: TEL2 A and TEL2 B) today announced that its Russian operation will begin tests of LTE technology over 1800 MHz frequencies on own network in Omsk. Tests are performed according to a method developed by the State Radio Institute and with the assistance of its experts.
The trials shall demonstrate that LTE and GSM technologies can share the same frequencies without degrading the quality of end user service. The tests will be completed by the 31 of March, 2012.
