Ingenico deploys its innovative biometric solution to Carvajal Tecnología y Servicios
Paris - October 24th, 2013. Ingenico (Euronext: FR0000125346 - ING), the leading worldwide provider of payment solutions, and Carvajal Tecnología y Servicios, one of the most important players in the electronic payment industry in Latin America, today announced a partnership for the deployment of Ingenico's Biometric solution in Colombia and the Dominican Republic.
Ingenico has been selected by Carvajal Tecnología y Servicios to provide new biometric payment device (iWB 220), for a pioneering project, to bring financial support to several low-income families.
Upon government approval for each of the applications, funds will be sent to the banks and through the use of these unique devices, beneficiaries can withdraw their funds, with the use of a fingertip.
"Biometric technology takes the payment process to a superior level of security for both sides. Approved family members are the only ones able to withdraw the funds, and the government is assured that the benefit is being paid to the right person," commented Carlos Manuel Pérez, Carvajal Tecnología y Servicios' CEO.
This solution is a unique Biometric point of sale, and the only one available in the market that complies with the Image Quality Specifications for single finger capture device defined by the FBI, the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation.
In addition to the highest security standards, the solution provided by Ingenico to Carvajal Tecnología y Servicios is a mobile device with an embedded Magstripe, as well as Chip & PIN readers, delivering the most complete equipment available from the electronic payment industry.
