Leuphana Digital School's New Online Course: Psychology of Negotiations -A Focus on 'Commons'
Participants will complete six consecutive assignments throughout the course. They solve the tasks in multicultural teams of five. The learning progress will be documented. Participants and teachers communicate an interactive online learning platform provided by candena GmbH, on which video lectures and readings are also provided. Throughout the course, participants review each others' work frequently. Qualified mentors and tutors will support the participants throughout the learning process.
In contrast to other Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), Leuphana's approach is characterized by an intense support of participants. The providers therefore rather refer to the course as a Mentored Open Online Course, a model that has been proven successfully last year. For the course "ThinkTank - Ideal City of the 21 Century", led by Prof. Daniel Libeskind , about 2,800 participants from more than 100 countries signed up and worked in teams on the visualization of their ideal city. The didactical concept has been further developed to create a more intense learning environment. In order to ensure the high standard of support, the number of active participants is limited to 1,000.
After successful completion of the course, participants may obtain a University certificate for a nominal fee of EUR 20 , awarding them with 5 Credit Points (ECTS) that can be transferred towards their own degree program.
