A butcher, a baker and a candlestick maker are just three of the British lovers who shared in last month's record-breaking $656 million USA Mega Millions lottery draw, with each winning a share of $10,000 after matching 4 numbers plus the Mega Ball.
Altogether, customers of UK-based , WinTrillions.co.uk won more than $50,000 (£31,645) in the historic draw and staff couldn't believe it when they found out what three of their biggest winners did for a living. They include a Butcher from Clitheroe, a Baker from Plymouth and an antiques dealer from Buxton who specialises in candlesticks.
"Sometimes you really can't make it up. I was looking through the list of winners who shared in the $10,000 prize on our Lottery Syndicate and I spotted the profession of three of them," said Lucy Gold , spokesperson for WinTrillions.co.uk. "In the nursery rhyme, they all , so maybe a cruise would be an appropriate thing to spend their prize money on."
The three were all playing with between 1 and 3 shares in the 30-share Syndicate, which means the baker won $333 , while the other two received $999 each. The money has already been claimed on their behalf and paid into their online accounts. Unlike in the nursery rhyme, where all three characters are men, the baker in this case is actually a woman.
Amanda B, who works for one of the UK's largest supermarket chains, said: "I thought this was a hilarious coincidence. I normally play in a EuroMillions syndicate, but the was just too big to miss. I treated the whole family, including my grandkids, to a theme park trip over Easter."
