Appointment of Tanzanian Independent Non-Executive Director

 

27 July 2012: African Eagle Resources plc ("African Eagle" or the "Company") (AIM: AFE; AltX: AEA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ambassador Paul Rupia as an independent Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

 

Ambassador Rupia is an internationally known and well respected Tanzanian statesman with over 49 years experience in the Tanzanian public service. He twice represented Tanzania as Ambassador to the United Nations, was Ambassador to Ethiopia and Deputy High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and also served his country as a Member of Parliament, Chief Secretary to the President's Office, Secretary to the Cabinet, Head of the Civil Services and Principal Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Rupia holds the Order for the United Republic and resides on various charitable boards including Chairman of DCB Commercial Bank PLC, Chairman of the Britain-Tanzania Society and St John's University of Tanzania.

 

Commenting on the announcement, African Eagle's Chairman, Dr. Chris Pointon said "I am delighted to welcome Ambassador Rupia to the Board of African Eagle. Ambassador Rupia will bring vital in-country knowledge, experience and contacts to the Board, which will be instrumental in guiding us as we seek to bring the Dutwa project through Feasibility Study, development and construction, and ultimately into production."
