For Immediate Release

, October 10, 2012, Environmental Tectonics Corporation ("ETC") ( www.etcusa.com ) announced today the award of a contract to provide the Spanish Air Force, with an altitude (hypobaric) chamber Model 12/4 ( www.etcaircrewtraining.com/hypobaric-chamber-altitude-chamber ), logistics support ( http://www.simulatorsupport.com ), and relocation and recertification of their existing ETC-built hypobaric chamber for a total contract value of $6 million. The new and relocated chambers will be installed in a new aeromedical facility that is being constructed at Torrejon Air Base in Madrid, Spain. The Spanish Air Force will use their new chamber in conjunction with their existing chamber to perform flight crew physiology training for environments of varying altitudes.  Traditional uses of hypobaric chambers include training aircrew to recognize and manage the physiological effects of operating in a high altitude environment and include training for the recognition and recovery from hypoxia, the effects of mechanical gas expansion, rapid and slow decompression, changes in altitude and more.  Benefits to all aircrew are a reduction in human factors errors resulting in high altitude flight mishaps.

"We are pleased to provide the Spanish Air Force with a new technologically advanced chamber and to relocate and recertify their existing chamber that has been in continuous service for more than 30 years", states William Mitchell, President and CEO, "all aircrew need to have access to initial as well as refresher altitude training to ensure they are optimally prepared and as a result - safer."

With over 40 commissioned chambers in the field worldwide, ETC continues to improve the way high altitude training and research is conducted.

ETC (OTCQB: ETCC) designs, manufactures and sells software driven products and services used to recreate and monitor the physiological effects of motion on humans and equipment and to control, modify, simulate and measure environmental conditions.  These products include aircrew training systems (aeromedical, tactical combat and general), disaster management systems, sterilizers (steam and gas), environmental testing products and hyperbaric chambers and other products and services that involve similar manufacturing techniques and engineering technologies.  ETC's unique ability to offer complete systems, designed and produced to high technical standards, sets it apart from its competition.  ETC is headquartered in Southampton, PA.  For more information about ETC, visit www.etcusa.com .
