Prior to Energous, Simon served as President of Invensas Corporation, and Chief Technology Officer at Tessera Technologies Inc. He founded Invensas in 2011 and built it into a leading semiconductor and IP licensing company, and the engine of Tessera's highly successful turnaround.  

Simon joined Tessera in 2010 having been CEO at Vertical Circuits Inc, a Silicon Valley based consumer electronics and IP company. Prior to Vertical Circuits, Simon held a series of diverse leadership roles at Amkor Technology), Honeywell Materials Inc and Johnson Matthey , where he built and led new businesses in semiconductor materials and electronics components in the US, Europe and Asia .

A practising Six Sigma Black-Belt and author of over 40 US patents, Simon holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees, with honors, in Engineering from Oxford University . Simon was born in Co Down, Northern Ireland .
