Kesko's sales in August 2014
Kesko Group's sales, excluding VAT, in August 2014 totalled EUR778.8 million, down 5.6%.
In Kesko's food trade, sales in August were EUR363.6 million, a decrease of 3.9% from the previous year. There was one delivery day less than in the previous year.
In the home and speciality goods trade, sales in August were EUR112.5 million, a decrease of 8.5%. The sales performance was especially impacted by the decline in the sales of the department store trade and interior decoration and home goods.
In the building and home improvement trade, sales in August were EUR238.7 million, a decrease of 4.4%. In terms of local currencies, sales were down by 2.0%. Sales in Finland decreased by 6.7%. Sales abroad decreased by 2.7 % in euros, but increased by 1.6% in local currencies.
In the car and machinery trade, sales in August were EUR78.1 million, a decrease of 11.7%. VV-Auto's sales in August were EUR56.3 million, up 3.5%. Konekesko's sales in August were EUR21.8 million, a decrease of 35.9% from the previous year.

In August 2014, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was 21, which was one less than in the previous year. The total number of selling days in January-August was two less than in the previous year . The number of retail selling days in August was 31, which was the same as in the previous year. The total number of retail selling days in January-August was the same as in the previous year.
