Kesko's comparable sales decreased in January by 1.0% - sales increased in the building and home improvement trade and the car trade

"In January, Kesko's sales increased in the car trade and in the building and home improvement trade. In the grocery trade, negative price trend continued," says Kesko's President and CEO Mikko Helander.
The sales of Kesko's grocery trade in January were EUR336.1 million, a decrease of 3.7% in local currencies. There was one delivery day less than in the previous year.
The sales of the home improvement and speciality goods trade in January were EUR196.5 million, and comparable sales excluding Anttila decreased by 1.1% in local currencies. In Finland, comparable sales were down by 2.8%. Outside Finland, comparable sales grew by 0.9% in local currencies. The sales of the building and home improvement trade increased by 1.4% in local currencies.
The sales of the car trade in January were EUR88.0 million, up 12.7% from the previous year.

In January 2016, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was 19, which was one less than in the previous year.
