Scammers know that people typically keep personal information on their smartphones or tablets, and have created new ways to steal information out of those devices. Hackers have made tools that function as charging stations, but when plugged into, these criminal-made stations end up hacking into the device and will clone all of the information stored within. The hackers then send the information to a separate server for storage. Oftentimes, the hacker will not even touch the copied information, but will instead sell it overseas to cyber criminal communities.
