Kesko's sales in January 2014

 

Kesko Group's sales, excluding VAT, in January 2014 totalled EUR704.2 million, down 1.7%.

 

In Kesko's food trade, sales in January were EUR335.7 million, a decrease of 2.4% compared to the previous year. In January, the number of delivery days was one less than in the previous year.

 

In the home and speciality goods trade, sales in January were EUR112.1 million, a decrease of 8.7%. Sales performance was impacted by weak department store sales, changes in the Musta Pörssi network, as well as a decline in the sales of clothing and sports equipment due to the poor winter season.

 

In the building and home improvement trade, sales in January were EUR170.3 million, down 4.8%. In terms of local currencies, sales declined by 0.5%. Sales in Finland decreased by 8.3% due to a decline in the sales of the agricultural trade. Sales abroad decreased by 1.6% in terms of euros and increased by 6.7% in terms of local currencies. In January, the number of delivery days in Finland was one less than in the previous year.

 

In the car and machinery trade, sales in January were EUR100.6 million, an increase of 18.1%. VV-Auto's sales in January were EUR86.8 million, up 25.2%. Konekesko's sales in January were EUR13.8 million, a decrease of 13.0% from the previous year.

In January 2014, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was 21, which was one less than in the previous year. The number of retail selling days in January was 29, which was the same as in the previous year.
