Timberland and the King Baudouin Foundation Announce Winners of Urban Greening Grant My PlayGreen

Not only the great outdoors, but the city parks, community gardens and green spaces its consumers explore every day. Today, as part of this commitment, Timberland discloses the first 14 winners of My PlayGreen, a 5-year grant program that will support the access to trees and greenspaces for children and teenagers across 5 of Europe's largest cities.

Grants to reward grassroots urban greening projects 

Timberland has teamed up with the King Baudouin Foundation to support the creation, maintenance or improvement of green spaces in 5 European cities in 5 years through a grant program. My PlayGreen will reward local, grassroots projects with grants up to 5000 GBP.

A total of 14 projects distributed across the greater London area have been awarded with grants. "We believe in the power of community groups to turn their neighborhoods into green. This is why we have chosen to reward small-scale projects and those citizens and local charities that work hard to make a difference in their communities. Local groups often lack the seed money to get started but with small support they can have a huge impact around them." Says Aurelie Dumont.

5 cities in 5years:London, Milan, Berlin, Paris, andBarcelona 

Timberland My PlayGreen is planning to travel to 5 European cities in 5 years. Later this year the fund will award urban greening projects in Milan and then travel to Berlin (2018), Paris (2019), and finally Barcelona (2020).  A jury of local experts will evaluate the projects in each location.
