It didn't take long for the Dream Team to turn into a complete nightmare in the city of "Brotherly Love". The Philadelphia Eagles are off to an extremely disappointing 1-4 start and a longshot to make the playoffs, according to the fastest growing sportsbook in the US, BetOnline.com.

A couple months back when the belated free agency period began, the Eagles signed numerous big-name free agents, including the prize of the 2011 free agent class Nnamdi Asomugha. The haul was so impressive that BetOnline adjusted the Eagles odds to win the Super Bowl from 14-1 all the way down to 7-1.

With those odds they would have been a sure bet to make the playoffs, but not anymore. Headed into their Week 6 game versus the Washington Redskins, BetOnline has Philly as the 3-1 underdog to make the playoffs, while the "No" pays out at 1-4.

"The last time a team opened the season 1-4 and went on to make the playoffs was way back in 2002," stated BetOnline's Dave Mason. "Obviously they have some work to do if Coach Andy Reid is going to lead the Birds to the playoffs for the tenth time in his 13 years as the Eagles' Head Coach."

With that kind of playoff resume you would think that Reid's job would be safe. However, BetOnline also opened a prop on whether Reid will be leading the Eagles in 2012. BetOnline believes he will still be on Philly's sideline next year, but it is anything but a "sure thing" as the "Yes" pays out at 2-3, while the "No" is the slight underdog at 6-5.

"Reid has gotten tons of criticism from the Philly faithful even prior to this year's debacle," stated Mason. "He is horrible at managing the clock, hired a questionable defensive coordinator and his team is playing dumb. But, his teams win consistently, that's a fact. And he is in good with owner Jeffrie Laurie, so I can't see him going anywhere."

"Look at their schedule the rest of the way; it is pretty easy as we'll have them favored in probably eight of their last eleven games," Mason concluded. "They win those eight games outright and they'll be sitting on nine wins. Nine wins could be good enough to win a weak NFC East, and should be good enough to lock-down a wildcard spot."

These aren't the only ways to bet on or against the Eagles this weekend. The Eagles-Redskins game is also featured on this weekend's Live betting schedule:
