AFRICA24 dominated the competition for Best TV Documentary, claiming 4 of the 5 finalist slots, all for programs made in collaboration with CCTV.  They included:

AFRICA24 MEDIA CEO Asif Sheikh thanked the Kenya Film Commission, who sponsored the awards and AFRICA24's production partner, CCTV,"The KFC has created a great platform to recognize important films, like those we have produced on African heroes.CCTV, led by Faces of Africa Chief Editor Helena Wu Yingna, has pushed us to provide the best quality production and storytelling.You can look forward to many more outstanding productions in the future, including programs on writer Wole Soyinka and Mozambican independence hero Samora Machel." 

The Gala event was held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre. It was a night of glamour, fun and great entertainment as hundreds of filmmakers, actors and film enthusiasts converged to honor the 2015 nominees. The event saw great hosting by emcee, Robert Murale. 

To cap it all, our very own TV producer, Kariuki Gichira and Cameraman Collins Kiambati brought the trophy home! 

The Kalasha Awards is a premier event organized to celebrate and recognize excellence in production of local Kenyan movies and stars. This is a massive platform for the arts and culture, serving as a forum for fostering a truly celebrity culture in the film industry.
