Whole slide imaging has gained tremendous acceptance within pathology education because of its many advantages over traditional teaching methods. Education programs that utilize glass slides for teaching face several potential challenges such as slide breakage, periodic re-cutting, limited availability and the inherent inconsistency of multiple slide sets.

Not surprising, many medical schools are abandoning the light microscope as the primary teaching tool in pathology.  VENTANA Vector software can help standardize training content by enabling students to view high quality, consistent slide images, and eliminate the frustration of having to share limited resources such as slide sets and multi-head microscopes.

The VENTANA Vector software platform is unique in the digital pathology market in offering a fully customizable interface, ability for users to view on mobile devices with both Cloud and local hosting options and is fully compatible with iScan Coreo and VENTANA iScan HT slide scanners.

Ventana Medical Systems, Inc.
