The Kesko Group's sales in January 2013, excluding VAT, totalled EUR716.6 million, representing the level of the previous year.

 

In Kesko's food trade, sales in January were EUR344.1 million, an increase of 10.5% compared to the previous year. The number of delivery days in January was one more than in the previous year.

 

In the home and speciality goods trade, sales in January were EUR122.7 million, a decrease of 2.7%. The sales of Indoor and Intersport Finland increased markedly. The sales of K-citymarket home and speciality goods and Anttila decreased.

 

In the building and home improvement trade, sales in January were EUR178.9 million, a decrease of 1.0%. Sales in Finland were up 6.6%. In terms of euros, sales abroad decreased by 7.0%, which is partly attributable to the changes in the chain that took place in Norway in 2012.

 

In the car and machinery trade, sales in January were EUR85.2 million, a decrease of 26.1%. VV-Auto's sales in January were EUR69.3 million, down 28.4%. In the previous year, sales increased due to the car tax change effective 1 April 2012. Konekesko's sales in January were EUR15.9 million, a decrease of 14.4% from the previous year.

In January 2013, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was 22, which was one more than in the previous year. The number of retail selling days in January was 29, which was the same as in the previous year.
