BOMBARDIER TRANSPORTATION : Bombardier si aggiudica un contratto per 24 tram FLEXITY Classic a pianale ribassato per Cracovia
Bombardier Transportation, insieme al partner di consorzio Vossloh Kiepe, è stata scelta per fornire 24 tram BOMBARDIER FLEXITY Classic a pianale ribassato all'operatore polacco Miejskie Przedsiebiorstwo Komunikacyjne SA (MPK), a Cracovia. Il valore dell'ordine è di quasi 59 milioni di euro (76 milioni di dollari US) e la quota di Bombardier si aggira intorno ai 40 milioni di euro (52 milioni di dollari US). La consegna del primo tram è prevista per marzo 2012. I tram saranno costruiti nello stabilimento Bombardier di Bautzen, in Germania.

BERLINO, GERMANIA--(Marketwire - 23 luglio 2010) - Germar Wacker, President, Light Rail Vehicles, Bombardier Transportation said: "MPK Krakow is once again choosing Bombardier as a supplier of proven urban transport solutions. We are honoured to be able to continue playing an active role in the enhancement of sustainable urban transport in Krakow following the supply of 50 vehicles between 2000 and 2008."
Janusz Kucmin, Chief Country Representative of Bombardier Transportation in Poland, added: "We are proud that MPK has decided to order trams from Bombardier for the fourth time already. With this order, the FLEXITY Classic low-floor tram fleet owned by MPK Krakow, will be increased to 74 vehicles."
The new FLEXITY Classic vehicles are 32 meters long trams with a width of 2.4 meters and offer a capacity for 229 passengers. Five wide double-door and two single-door entrances ensure a rapid passenger flow, multi-purpose areas provide space for pushchairs and wheel-chair users. Air-conditioning in the passenger compartment, as well as a passenger information system provide high travel comfort.
More than 1,500 FLEXITY vehicles from Bombardier are already in successful revenue service. Overall Bombardier now has more than 2,800 trams and light rail vehicles operating or on order in cities across Europe, Australia and North America. Low-floor FLEXITY trams are operating in Poland in the cities of Gdansk, Lodz and Krakow.
