Elex to Start Advertising Clash of Kings on German TV
Over the past year, major mobile game publishers are seeing significant boosts in App Store and Google Play Store rankings for their titles following TV campaigns. While successes have been evident in Japan for some time, the practice is now spreading to Western markets. TV viewers aren't strangers to ads featuring mobile games anymore. They've seen Super Bowl commercials being flung through the air on the air, for instance, and they're probably going to start seeing a lot more of them, because they are working.
The game developer is going to begin running TV ads in Germany , by launching a TV advertising campaign, with spots created in Germany , aired nation-wide, in heavy rotation and specifically aimed at German players. "Want to sell your mobile game in 2015? You better make a TV commercial," said the company. " Germany is one of our key markets. Through television, we're seeing a ten-fold growth in our player volume. The first two commercials will be aired next week nationwide."
Contributing to the game's addictiveness is its Facebook integration. The game has been in the top 10 grossing apps for Google Play in over 75 countries, according to app analytics company App Annie .
