The Kesko Group's sales, excluding VAT, in April 2013 totalled EUR810.4 million, up 1.4%.

 

In Kesko's food trade, sales in April were EUR350.5 million, a decrease of 3.4% compared to the previous year.

 

In the home and speciality goods trade, sales in April were EUR110.1 million, a decrease of 3.9%. Sales performance was impacted  by network changes in Musta Pörssi and Intersport Russia, as well as the decrease in Anttila's sales. Sales increased in Intersport Finland and Indoor.

 

In the building and home improvement trade, sales in April were EUR254.3 million, an increase of 0.4%. Sales in Finland were up 5.2%. In terms of euros, sales abroad decreased by 4.3%. This is partly attributable to the changes that took place in the chain in Norway in 2012.

 

In the car and machinery trade, sales in April were EUR107.7 million, an increase of 32.7%. VV-Auto's sales in April were EUR77.1 million, up 64.0%. In the previous year, sales decreased due to the car tax change effective 1 April 2012. Konekesko's sales in April were EUR30.6 million, a decrease of 10.4% from the previous year.

Change, % indicates the change over the corresponding period of the previous year.

 

In April 2013, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was 21, which was two more than in the previous year. The total number of selling days in January-April was the same as in the previous year. The number of retail selling days in April was 29, which was two more than in the previous year. The total number of retail selling days in January-April was one less than in the previous year.
