Blood pressures also trend upward, with diastolic readings jumping from 77 mmHg from women in their late 30s, to 83 mmHg in women over 60.

The average woman's waistline expands to 92.8cm by age 60, with average bodyfat levels climbing from 29% in under-35s, to 33.6% in their 60s. Blood pressures also trend upward, with diastolic readings jumping from 77 mmHg from women in their late 30s, to 83 mmHg in women over 60. 

However, the data reveals dramatic improvements after just 12 weeks of structured strength training. Average waistlines shrank by 7-8cm, body fat levels dropped by more than five percentage points, and blood pressure fell into safer ranges. These results equate to a 10% reduction in all-cause mortality. The biggest improvements were seen in women over 50.
