CITN Channel 27 Notice to Logic TV Subscribers

CITN believes that Logic has engaged in the unauthorized practice of interception of US satellite TV transmissions, and rebroadcasting and distributing CBS programming licensed from CBS Studios International acquired in this fashion, to subscribers in the Cayman Islands for commercial purposes, without the consent of the owners of the copyright of that programming, or the Cayman Island Licensee CITN Cayman 27 and without payment of any form of licensing fees to CITN or CBS.

CITN Cayman 27 has requested Logic cease its interception and rebroadcast of CBS and CBS programming. Logic has not denied these unauthorized activities but has continued to engage in these practices, compelling CITN Cayman 27 to make its position public and to refer the matter to the Cayman Islands regulatory authority. CITN Cayman 27 has requested the local regulatory authority to take appropriate action against Logic with a view of ensuring a level playing field among television providers in the Cayman Islands and avoiding an unfair competitive advantage to Logic, in the interest of all subscribers in the Cayman Islands. CITN Cayman 27 is confident that the local legal authority will take appropriate action to address this entirely unsatisfactory situation.
