Europe's Largest Celebration of Film Soundtracks, the 9th Film Music Festival, to be Held in Krakow This May

The most famous motifs from Roman Polański's films, jazz deconstructions of Hollywood's Golden Age hits, ambient sounds, film and game soundtrack premieres, compositions for animated cinema hits and world-famous stars of film and music - all await fans of soundtracks who visit the festival between 24-30 May 2016 .
The on 27th May will feature famous motifs by composers who have been dubbed the new wave of Hollywood film music: Joseph Trapanese ( ) who collaborated with Daft Punk and the M83 project on and ; Cliff Martinez , former Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer, composer of minimalist arrangements for and , combining electronica and symphonic music; and Jóhann Jóhannsson, the prominent contemporary composer, writer of the Oscar-nominated score for and suites for and
The will feature masters of animated film music John Powell ( ) and Harry Gregson-Williams ( ), as well as pieces from , , and .
composed by John Williams will be shown on 29th May, on the 35th anniversary of its premiere. The famous which opens the soundtrack is the second most recognisable film motif of all time, surpassed only by the theme.
On 30th May, the festival finale will feature the - a joint project by the Krakow Festival Office and CD Projekt RED, publisher of the cult game. The Witcher is one of the most recognisable video game characters in the world, and the game is one of the most successful made in Poland , with over 6 million copies sold in the first 6 weeks, making it the most recognisable Polish brand in the world.
