June 29, 2026 – Exclusive interview with the National Coordinator of the Organizing Committee. Following the great success of the Second Edition of the Legality and Security Award, held on June 26 in Naples, we reached Dr. Salvatore Abbruzzese, National Coordinator of the Organizing Committee, for a brief but meaningful phone interview. He was unfortunately absent from Friday’s ceremony due to health reasons.
We asked him a direct question: “The Award grows every year, intensifies and evolves, and with it your responsibilities and the competencies required to organize it.” He smiles and replies firmly: «The Legality and Security Award is not just a moment, a day, a ceremony of recognition. It is a national laboratory of cooperation, a meeting point between institutions, diplomacy, public security and private security. Our commitment is to strengthen national and international partnerships, expanding dialogue with all those involved in Security and Legality. With this shared spirit, together with the Promoting Committee led by Dr. Giuseppe Alviti—always a Security Professional, Expert Trainer and Bastion of Legality—we decided to create this initiative, which aims not only to reward merit but also to contribute to social growth in the field of urban safety and prevention.»
He continues, sharing his vision and future prospects for an event that is increasingly expanding at both European and international levels: «Thanks to the collaboration with friends and colleagues with whom we share not only the organizational work of this Award but also other passions and projects, we have been able to further expand cooperation with Diplomatic Missions, International Organizations, and major entities in the private and public security sectors.»
“The Award is changing year after year, involving more participants and more institutions.” He reflects briefly and adds: «What you see is the final stage of months of work, with direct contacts between institutions, diplomacy and security sectors. A network of communications, meetings and coordination that creates a real virtual bridge among all involved.»

We ask how many people make up the Organizing Committee: «The answer comes quickly: at the moment, the Organizing Committee consists of 15 members, plus an additional 5 or 6 from the Promoting Committee.»
“I imagine you were very disappointed not to attend after such intense organizational work.” He pauses, then replies: «Unfortunately, personal health issues prevented my participation again this year, but I take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude to every institution, professional and operator who contributed to this result.»
“Yes, because you were also absent from the first edition.” He reveals a small truth: «Indeed, I must admit that in recent months I have faced issues related to blood pressure and more, but this did not stop me from ensuring proper coordination of all organizational phases.» He adds: «Everything was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Committee Members, who—under the constant supervision of my colleague, Dr. Fathima Azaani OMERDEEN—continued the work, ensuring a successful outcome despite my absence. I extend sincere thanks for her decisive role, especially in institutional relations and international affairs.»
“Can you give us a spoiler about the next edition?” He smiles: «We will soon meet internally and with the Promoting Committee led by Dr. Giuseppe Alviti and Anna Nesi. I already have some innovations in mind for future editions, but it is too early to reveal them. What I can say is that we will continue working with dedication so the Award grows even further, together with Fathima and all colleagues, with even greater determination.»
“What do you foresee for the future?” Before ending the interview, he shares a final reflection: «The Legality and Security Award will continue to grow thanks to the commitment and determination of myself, Fathima, Mickeal, Eros, Kim, Claudio and all those involved in the organizational phases. It will increasingly become not only a moment of recognition but also a place where legality, prevention and security come together to build more resilient cities and more aware communities. A national, European and international point of reference—a bridge between cultures, territories and security. Because legality is not an abstract concept; it is a daily commitment, and it is our duty to enhance it. This is the spirit of our mission: to value those who work every day for the safety and well‑being of all.»
