Peruvian Olympic Committee Launches "Sports For All" Conference in Lima 2013

Taking place in London's famous County Hall in front of the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and the Thames River, London served as a brilliant backdrop to an event that celebrated Lima and the arrival of the Conference in Peru. There were over 100 guests, including Olympic representatives such as Joël Bouzou, (President of the World Olympic Association), Tsunekazu Takeda (President of the Japanese Olympic Committee), and Sam Ramsamy (President of the Sports For All committee).

Taking place in London's famous County Hall in front of the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and the Thames River, London served as a brilliant backdrop to an event that celebrated Lima and the arrival of the Conference in Peru . There were over 100 guests, including Olympic representatives such as Joël Bouzou, (President of the World Olympic Association), Tsunekazu Takeda (President of the Japanese Olympic Committee), and Sam Ramsamy (President of the Sports For All committee).

The event was hosted by Jose Quiñones, President of the Peruvian Olympic Committee, along with Julio Muñoz, the Peruvian Ambassador in London . Alongside with Jorge Muñoz (Mayor of Miraflores) and Ivan Dibos (member of the international Olympic committee. The main speech was given by Jose Quiñones and then by Sam Ramsamy , who said '"Sport for All" aims at bringing spiritual and material benefits for everyone, and will do so for Lima and Miraflores in particular.' The Mayor of Miraflores then encouraged people to attend the conference, saying that in Miraflores 'we are all in love with the culture of healthiness, and will be waiting for you next year.'

When asked what "Sports For All" meant for Lima , Jose Quiñones said that ' Lima will be in the eye of the sporting world during four days, exposing the subject of sport in our society to the maximum level possible, hence encouraging sport not only in Peru itself but throughout the world.'

Press and key Peruvians in London were also invited to the launch, which saw videos being displayed of the attractions of Peru and a taste of Peruvian cuisine, including ceviche and pisco sour by the newest Peruvian restaurant in London LIMA by Chef Virgilio Martinez , owner of the famous restaurant "Central".
