Faris Al-Sultan, winner at the World Championship #IRONMAN Kona-Hawaii on 2005 and finisher #ÖtillÖ Swimrun on 2016, will enter #Aquaticrunner Swimrun Italian Championship CSEN Grado-Lignano on August, 27th 2017.
One of the best triathletes in the world, Faris is 39 Years old, from Germany and he run with Abu Dhabi team. He won the World championship Ironman in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, in 2005 and he was the winner in many other IRONMAN races: 2005(Ironman Arizona), 2008 (Ironman Malaysia), 2010 (IM Regensburg), 2012 (IM Austria), 2013(IM Lanzarote). Last year he was finisher, in 15 position, at ÖtillÖ Swimimrun World Championship in team with Peter Oom from Sweden.
Faris told about the Swimrun that it's very entertaining due to the many changes between swimming and running and he likes the fact that you don't really change clothes but simply keep going and not much equipment is needed.
Faris told about the Individual and Team formulas: ''The Team formula is cool but your success really relies on your partner, from the other side you can motivate each other so both types have their pro's and con's. At an individual race it's only you to blame and the final result depend only by you.''
The location where the athletes compete in Aquaticrunner, is unique by natural point of view. There are five sandy islands are protected by Biodiversity, controlled by European departments and the University. The starting point is in Grado and the finisher line in in Lignano, 30 km ''in line'' from the start. This is the essential of Aquaticrunner, a trip in a natural area between sea and Lagoon. For Faris '' the Swimrun is great especially if the race if competed in natural zone, like going from one island to the next one to get somewhere (starting and arriving in different point) ''. Personally Faris love triathlon, he told ''cycling is just too much fun, especially in Italy with it's huge cycling tradition but it is a really nice addition to what we got so far''.
At the question ''what do you think about Aquaticrunner'' he told ''I look forward to warm water and a stunning landscape, nice Italian food and a tough competition. Most Swimrun races are in Scandinavia where you freeze like crazy and I like the heat!''
