In 1992, couturier Gianni Versace purchased the property and invested $33 million in expansions including the south wing, and the pool and garden area, whilst incorporating his artistic vision. The home was then bought in 2000 by current owner, Peter Loftin, who preserved and maintained all of Versace's design elements. The 10-bedroom, 11-bathroom, gated home is highlighted by a 54-foot long, thousand mosaic pool, lined in 24-karat gold, numerous frescos and ornate statues, arched doorways and an open air courtyard.
