Regarding the investigation of the European Commission

Based on the European Commission (hereinafter – EC) press release, the Company informs that on 3 June 2019 the EC has opened an investigation procedure to assess whether the application of the strategic reserve measure and, consequently, the allocation of funds of the public service obligations (hereinafter – PSO) to the Company, complied with EU State aid rules.
It should be noted that the strategic reserve is the provision of the system reserves in the designated power plants, the activity of which is necessary to ensure the energy security of the state. Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba, AB has been appointed to provide this PSO service for 2016-2018 by the resolution of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
The investigation opened by the EC does not in itself mean that the allocation of PSO funds for the strategic reserve service does not comply with EU State aid rules. The Company will actively participate in the investigation by providing all the necessary information for the purpose of cooperation and constructive process.
