ROODMICROTEC N.V. - Sales rise in first half 2015
Zwolle, 09 July 2015
Preliminary sales in the first half of 2015 rose to EUR 4.912 million, or 3% compared to the first half of 2014 (EUR 4.771 million). As explained before, we believe that the negative trend of the past few years has been broken. The rise was mainly due to the automotive sector.
In view of the significant increase of our quote portfolio compared to January 2015, when it reached a level of over EUR 10 million, and the rise in orders we maintain our sales target for 2015.
The fact that the factors set out above have not yet resulted in a material increase of sales is due to the inevitable long preparation times projects often require. However, once these projects start to generate sales, these will be recurring sales. And recurring sales give us a far stabler position.
We expect that the orders we wrote about in early June will partly start to contribute to sales in the second half of 2015. Over the next few years, these orders will annually generate between EUR 0.5 and 1 million in recurring sales. The order we booked in early July of approx. EUR 25 million over ten years will generate recurring sales as of the second quarter of 2016.
Sales by business unit first half 2015 vs. first half 2014
The decrease of Supply Chain sales is temporary. We expect them to rise strongly in the near future. Especially the recently booked order of approx. EUR 25 million will cause sales in the supply chain to rise strongly, but new expected orders will also contribute.
In view of the high hitrate, the rising quote portfolio and new orders booked, Rood Microtec now expects to realise at least clear sales growth in the second half of 2015 and significant sales growth in 2016 and beyond.
We have reached the invoicing stage of a start-up or are already investing in the preparation phase of over 50% of new projects. These relate to our core segments Automotive (50%) and Industrial/Medical (30%), but also high-end consumer business (20%). Automotive and Industrial/Medical are fast growing market segments.
There is now strong ground for maintaining our previously stated long-term objective of annual autonomous growth of between 3% and 13% at an average growth of the semiconductor market of 6% and thus improve the operating result and the net result.
