After huge success in 2011, the Camden Fringe has returned to promote local creative talent.  Types of cultural entertainment that will be featured include theatre, dance, comedy, and poetry and there are over 400 performances taking place across North London throughout the event. Modern adaptations of Shakespeare's plays will be performed, alongside opera shows and dance pieces from the Tarangano Theatre. Each event is either paid for individually or free of charge, and the festival aims to give as many people as possible the opportunity to showcase their talents. The festival is becoming more and more popular, and a past review by the Guardian commented "A David has emerged to challenge the Edinburgh Goliath: the Camden Fringe."

This connection could be related to the fact that the Camden Fringe was set up by Zena Barrie and Michelle Flower, who produced comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for four years. They then started running the Etcetera Theatre so visitors to this event will know that they are in good hands!

The venues of the Camden Fringe this year stretch from Highgate, through to Camden town and Covent Garden, with each venue providing a unique and interesting performance.
