Casting a Love Spell This Halloween
Halloween has been celebrated in
Britain for over 2000 years, by Celts, Romans and Christians right up to the present day. The Celts held a festival called the Celtic Samhain which honoured the dead, always on the 31 of October, and that is why Samhain is another name for
Halloween , albeit a lesser known one.
Pagans celebrated the 31 of October as the end of the harvest and the beginning of the winter with it's cold months and this, it is thought, is why the colours orange and black are so prolific on this day; orange being the harvest and black being death, therefore symbolising the death of the harvest. The Romans, who were typically Christian, celebrated All Hallows or
All Saints Day on the 1 of November. This was a day to celebrate
the saints that didn't have their own personal date to be celebrated on. All
Hallows Eve or 'Hallowe'en' was the day before the celebration.
Another popular idea is that Halloween is the day and the night when spirits and dead people can cross back over from the world of the dead to the world of the living to see their loved ones. However it is celebrated, one thing is certain; spooky ghosts and ghouls are certainly linked to that one night and have been for thousands of years, which is why we celebrate by dressing our children up as witches, ghosts and little devils and practicing popular fright night activities such as playing trick or treat in our local area, trying to make connections with the dead or even in some cases summoning witches (in case you are interested, to summon a witch you should put your clothes on inside out and walk backwards, but only on
Halloween night!).
For those of us adults that love to dress up and celebrate with a tipple or two or throw an outright party, there are also some great
Halloween costumes, especially for women! At Adult Toys UK there is a brand new and exciting range of sexy and pretty
Halloween costumes. The range of costumes includes the 'Kinky Kitty' which comes with various accessories including a tail, collar and ears, the 'Yummy Mummy', a 'Sexy Skeleton' with leg warmers and gloves, the 'Dead Bride' with her bloodied white dress and veil, a 'Black Widow' with glow in the dark detail and web like accessories, the 'Vampire Vixen' and lastly the cute and colourful 'Pleasure Pumpkin'.
The really great thing about these costumes is that they are of the highest quality and beautifully designed and crafted. In fact they are so well made that we thought they would be suitable for everyday wear, not just once per year! The Halloween costume range is available now at http://www.adultoysuk.co.uk, right up until Halloween itself and there are plenty of naughty Halloween themed toys to enjoy from their extensive Halloween range too including a Voodoo Doll and Love Potions. However you celebrate Halloween , remember it isn't just for children and its not just an excuse to eat lots of chocolate, its also an excuse to go shopping and get sexy! Enjoy the season!
