Kesko's sales in July increased by 2.4%

The Kesko Group's sales in July 2012, excluding VAT, totalled EUR799.0 million, showing an increase of 2.4%.

 

In Kesko's food trade, sales in July were EUR350.9 million, an increase of 4.4%. Sales to the K-food store chains were up 4.5%. The sales of Pirkka products to K-food stores increased by 16.6%. 

 

In the home and speciality goods trade, sales in July were EUR119.6 million, an increase of 4.3%. K-citymarket's sales of home and speciality goods, and the sales of Asko, Sotka and Intersport grew compared to the previous year.

 

In the building and home improvement trade, sales in July were EUR252.1 million, an increase of 9.0%. Sales in Finland were up 5.7%. Sales abroad increased by 11.2% in terms of euros. In Russia, sales increased by 27.0% in terms of euros.

 

In the car and machinery trade, sales in July were EUR86.7 million, a decrease of 20.2%. VV-Auto's sales in July were EUR52.2 million, down 24.0%, which was attributable to the car tax change effective from 1 April 2012. Konekesko's sales in July were EUR34.5 million, a decrease of 13.9% compared to the previous year.

In July 2012, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was 22, which was one more than in the previous year. The total number of selling days in January-July was one more than in the previous year. The number of retail selling days in July was 31, which was the same as in the previous year. The total number of retail selling days in January-July was one more than in the previous year.
