René van der Bruggen, CEO Imtech: 'Imtech has a business unit in Coevorden in the Netherlands, with unique competences in the fields of industrial automation and power electronics. This is technology at the cutting-edge of the combination of energy technology, automation and electronics. Challenging market circumstances in the Netherlands mean that in our strategy we focus on intensifying the export of these specific high-tech solutions. The new orders show that we're making good progress here.'

The 'Anguille' oilfield, located in the Atlantic Ocean approximately 30 kilometres from the coast of Gabon, has been active for almost 30 years, which is why parts of the technical infrastructure are in need of replacement. Commissioned by oil concern Total, Imtech is realising the replacement of the core (automation, management and control) of the telecommunications infrastructure in a total of fourteen oil platforms. Imtech is employing the entire spectrum of automation and telecommunications technology, such as industrial software, glass fibre technology, wireless systems, high-tech camera technology, radio connections, wave measurement systems, as well as the latest generation of monitoring & control systems. A hyper-modern control room will also be realised.

In the city of Port Harcourt in Nigeria, Imtech is working with local Nigerian partners to realise and make operational an energy plant that will supply energy for approximately one million city residents. In the event of breakdown in the energy network, this plant also serves as back-up facility to provide energy to a number of crucial buildings in the city.

Finally, Imtech is providing power electronics solutions for the controlling device and conditioning of different Thales marine radar systems and the drive of special centrifuges at a new plant of Areva SET in southern France.
