Cozumel's Fall Culture Week will incorporate several different art mediums for spectators to enjoy. These free events are held each night throughout the week. Organized by the Círculo Cultural Arcano, the kickoff to this weeklong celebration of the arts and culture will happen at the Parque Benito Juarez with a Ceremony to Mother Earth from the Fernanda Montiel Temazcalli Group. This performance will include dancing and drums, as well as fire and water elements to be performed by the Itzáez Group.
El Cid Vacations Club invites art and culture lovers of all kinds to take a trip to El Cid La Ceiba Beach resort in Cozumel to experience Cozumel's Fall Culture Week. While there are many events that will take place throughout the week, El Cid Vacations Club is sharing some of the highlights of the week:
· October 20 - Viewers will enjoy a puppet theatre performance of "The Little Toad and Mr. Rain" performed by Group Salmon and the Fairy Symphonic Band at the Parque Benito Juarez.
· October 21 and 22 - Several videos about the environment and nature will be shown at the Auditorium of the Museum of Island that were a part of the International Film Festival of Latin America and the Caribbean. Several short films from the 5th Annual "Historias en Corto" Short Film Contest.
· October 23 - 6th Annual Reading Marathon, also known as the "Camino de Letras," will occur throughout the various schools of Mexico and culminate at the Plaza Chedraui.
· October 24 - A contemporary dance entitled "Natura" will be performed by the Alsurdanza - Contemporary Dance Company Yucatan as well as soloist and ensemble ballet performances from the Independent Company Bara Libre Studio 4.
