Author Adam Dunn Launches Dunn Books Publishing Imprint With Series of 3 Novels
NEW CANAAN, Conn., Oct. 12, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Joining a growing trend toward self-publishing but taking an even bolder step, successful mystery and suspense author Adam Dunn, who wrote a series of three novels with a fourth already in the works, has launched his own publishing company, Dunn Books ( www.dunnbooks.com ).
He will publish the first three titles in the series - , , and , which focuses on global organized crime, political corruption and financial chicanery-on November 1st, 2015 in eBook format. Paperback and Audiobook versions of the three books go on sale November 15th. Supporting publication is a six-figure promotional campaign involving national radio ads, targeted outdoor advertising in nine major cities worldwide, including New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Montreal, Sydney and Dublin, as well as extensive online promotional packages.
"After my experiences with the publishing industry, I decided the only way to achieve real success with my books was to try a new direction," Dunn said. "While the process has been intense, our early results have been excellent. We've had a strong response to our initial galley mailings, in the form of praise from bestselling authors, as well as registered interest from major media outlets.
"I want Dunn Books to provide myself and other authors with a more proactive, streamlined publishing organization," he continued. "We expect to have new authors under the Dunn Books banner by early 2016."
Dunn is currently working on his fourth novel in the series, , as well as another novel, , with a co-writer, Eric Anderson. He redesigned and launched the website, Dunnbooks.com, with all new content, including his new blog, "Capital Fright". The site will also feature new print and video author talks, beginning with Dunn's interview with best-selling novelist Lisa Scottoline.
Dunn originally published in hardcover in 2010 and received wide praise from critics. Patrick Anderson in the wrote, "Dunn is a talented writer, and will be talked about, deservedly." Best-selling author Jeffrey Deaver said, " is brilliant! Dunn is one of those true rarities among crime novelists: a natural storyteller with a breathtaking style and an unstoppable imagination."
In the near-future world Dunn establishes in , and carries through nd , New York City is even tougher than usual: Race riots. Massive unemployment. Rampant crime and a thriving black market. Welcome to the Second Great Depression.
In the series, Detective Sixto Santiago is part of an experimental new NYPD unit known as the Citywide Anticrime Bureau (CAB),where squads of undercover cops in taxicabs are meant to hold down the chaos just enough to keep tourists coming. Santiago's most dangerous foe just might be his mysterious and menacing new partner, Everett More-whose vague background and lethal skill-set hints he is more than just a cop. From the grime of the city's taxi garages to the crossroads of high finance and organized crime, Dunn's series-dubbed "Apocalypse Noir" by one reviewer-is a kaleidoscopic vision of the near-future gone hideously wrong, and the unorthodox team fighting to keep a damaged city on the brink from going completely over the edge.
