The film, which will be launched on the second half of 2017, is directed by Daniel Bydlowski, director who studies and researches VR at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is being made in partnership with Synaptic VFX, the American company responsible for the visual effects of many famous movies such as Now You See Me 2, Iron Man, Hancock, and Alice in Wonderland in 3D.
"Virtual Reality (VR) allows us to see and experience the world in a way that no other technology is capable of. It is becoming the next big thing in Hollywood and it is important to explore it as a storytelling and cinema device, not only as a video-game experience" explains Ince.
About the film:
Today, technology is advancing in an unimaginable speed. Some surprisingly say that they believe in Cryogenics, a technology that freezes the human body after death with the hopes that the science of the future will allow it to come to life once more. The film produced by Dilek tells the story of a married couple, Harriet and Peter, who signed a contract to upload their memories to a computer after they die. The film is a critique on the complete belief in technology. The couple, who do not remember they have died, will need to find a way out of their present situation of forgetfulness and pain in the digital world.
Scott Allen Rinker, known for Star Trek Enterprise, and Jerome Charvet, who worked with Gerard Depardieu and Jean Reno, are part of cast. The cinematography and visual effects are in the hands Shant Jordan, the talented artist behind the visual effects of "Day After Tomorrow." Dilek expects the project to be completed on the second quarter of 2017.
