Kesko's sales in February 2014

 

Kesko Group's sales, excluding VAT, in February 2014 totalled EUR659.2 million, down 2.5%.

 

In Kesko's food trade, sales in February were EUR320.8 million, a decrease of 1.4% compared to the previous year.

 

In the home and speciality goods trade, sales in February were EUR92.5 million, a decrease of 10.6%. Sales performance was impacted by a decline in department store sales, a decline in the sales of clothing and sports equipment due to the poor winter season as well as changes in the Musta Pörssi network. Online sales of home and speciality goods developed positively.

 

In the building and home improvement trade, sales in February were EUR176.6 million, a decrease of 3.6%, but an increase of 2.2% in terms of local currencies. Sales in Finland decreased by 6.8%. Sales abroad were at the level of the previous year in terms of euros and increased by 11.2% in terms of local currencies.

 

In the car and machinery trade, sales in February were EUR81.4 million, an increase of 7.4%. VV-Auto's sales in February were EUR63.0 million, up 6.5%. Konekesko's sales in February were EUR18.3 million, an increase of 9.7% from the previous year.

In February 2014, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was 20, which was the same as in the previous year. The total number of selling days in January-February was one less than in the previous year. The number of retail selling days in February was 28, which was the same as in the previous year. The total number of retail selling days in January-February was the same as in the previous year.
