The Berakah Project (Berakah), the not-for-profit music organisation, has today announced its "Decade-One" UK tour, along with the first-ever performance of the Berakah Multi-Faith Youth Ensemble. The tour marks ten years of Berakah uniting people and faiths through the power of music.

The tour kicks off in Central London with a concert at St. James's Piccadilly on 4 June, and continues to Brighton , Luton , Leeds , Rotherham and Oxford . In recognition of Berakah's valuable work in bringing unity to Britain's communities, the tour is being funded by The Arts Council of England.

With a mixture of World Music, Jazz, Blues and traditional elements drawn from Europe and the Middle East , the tour will also showcase new music, written specially for the tour to celebrate their first ten years. The London date will also feature the Berakah Multi-Faith Choir and will introduce the newly-formed Berakah Multi-Faith Youth Ensemble. The Youth Ensemble comprises musicians - vocalists, keyboard and guitar - from different cultures and faiths, aged 16 to 21.

Mohammed Nazam , the founder of The Berakah Project, says: "Each and every time we perform I see the power of our music melting the differences between people and bringing us together in one joyous group. Berakah's ability to unite people across different communities and faiths is always an amazing and uplifting experience. Making music and showing how it brings us all together is a unique experience." He adds: "For our new tour we have worked closely with local community organisations to plan the concerts to make sure that community members are involved and have the opportunity to come together in a spirit of unity and celebration. I am immensely proud of our Youth Ensemble, which represents the future of Britain ."

Berakah, set up ten years ago, is an inter-faith music initiative dedicated to crossing the boundaries of race, religion and culture through music. The core aim of this not-for-profit organisation is to promote dialogue and understanding between people of different faiths. Music can often build bridges that other wouldn't exist, especially if there is a powerful and positive message in the music itself. The Berakah Project (meaning Grace or Blessing) promotes this message perfectly.
