Kesko's sales in March

"In March, the sales development of the home improvement and speciality goods trade in particular was affected by the timing of Easter and the smaller number of delivery days compared to the previous year. The declining price development continued in the grocery trade," says Kesko's President and CEO Mikko Helander.
The sales of Kesko's grocery trade in March were EUR413.5 million and decreased by 1.1% in local currencies due to the price development.
The sales of the home improvement and speciality goods trade in March were EUR281.2 million, and comparable sales excluding Anttila decreased by 5.1% in local currencies. In Finland, comparable sales declined by 7.9% whereas the market position strengthened further. Outside Finland, comparable sales decreased by 1.0% in local currencies. The sales of the building and home improvement trade decreased by 4.4% in local currencies.
The sales of the car trade in March were EUR74.8 million, up 0.8% from the previous year.

In March 2016, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was 21, which was one less than in the previous year. The total number of selling days in January-March was one less than in the previous year.
