PRESS RELEASE, 22 May 2013 (A translation from Swedish)
Nordic Mines starts installation of a cost efficient and environmentally adapted crushing function for an increased throughput in accordance with the action plan.
After a thorough investigation to find a cost efficient solution for a crushing function, the company has finally come to a conclusion how to design the solution. The solution includes an establishment of a crushing function in direct connection to the ore stock pile shed and the newly installed fifth feeder that feeds the ore forward into the processing plant. Due to the placement adjacent to the ore stock pile shed, the need for conveyers is minimized, which simplifies the function. Moreover, it will have a positive impact on the environment since the crushing function will get power from our switchgear and the dust control will be reduced by adding water from the adjacent water connection.
The crushing function pre-treats a portion of the material which comes from the primary crusher to smaller fractions before the ore is fed into the processing plant. After a number of test runs made to find the optimal composition of ore into the processing plant, the throughput has stabilized at a higher level.
In a first step, the company will outsource the crushing function to a supplier who will manage the crushing and invoice the company per crushed ore ton. In a next step, the company can bring the crushing in-house.
"Due to a comprehensive test program it has taken some time to come to a conclusion, but this crushing function solves many issues at the same time. The throughput has stabilized at a higher level. The costs for crushing, loading and hauling will be reduced quite instantly at the same time as the environment and the company's cash position is taken into account" says Thomas Cederborg, CEO, in a comment.
