SOITEC : SOITEC IS CONTINUING ITS DRIVE FOR QUALITY WITH ISO 22301 CERTIFICATION
Soitec is continuing its drive for quality with iso 22301 certification
The company is the first in France to achieve this certification. It reflects its ability to provide customers with continued service during exceptional situations.
Bernin, France, August 28, 2013 - Soitec, the world leader in the production and generation of extreme performance semiconductor materials for the electronics and energy industries, has received ISO 22301:2012 certification for its Bernin site (near Grenoble, in South-East France). This international standard provides a framework for companies in implementing procedures that will ensure the continuity of their critical businesses during exceptional circumstances. Soitec, the first ISO 22301:2012 certified company in France, has thus received recognition for the quality of its business continuity management system.
The objective of this continuity plan is to protect the company from disruptive incidents (fires, unavailability of its information system, pandemics, malicious acts, etc.) by reducing their potential impact on its business. Using a basis of various crisis scenarios, Soitec has thus implemented methodology that will ensure proper management of the difficulties that it could encounter.
According to Ali Dincmen, Director of International Business Development at Bureau Veritas Certification (the company who audited Soitec), "the business continuity plan implemented at Bernin, which is where the company's headquarters and several of its production lines are located, will allow Soitec to go beyond preventative actions. By defining the role of each key player and the procedures to follow internally, as well as those that should be followed by all stakeholders, for each scenario, the company will reduce the risk of disruptions in its production, which represents a real asset for its customers. Soitec is a forerunner in France in obtaining the ISO 22301:2012 certification. This reflects the maturity of its approach."
Since its creation over 20 years ago, Soitec has always placed quality and safety at the core of its concerns. All of its sites based in Europe and Asia are already ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified, and its San Diego site in California is scheduled to obtain these three certifications by 2014.
