A Haglöfs product has a lot to tell. More people are now getting the opportunity to discover these stories, and at the same time contribute to making the world a better place. Haglöfs is set to introduce its Swapstories thrift store concept in the Haglöfs Brand Store in Stockholm, Sweden on September 18, 2012. All proceeds go straight to charity.

Long-term durability is one of the characteristics of a Haglöfs product. At the pace that consumers buy new products, the old ones often wind up way in the back of the closet and stay there. That is a pretty bad place for an outdoor product that has a lot left to give. With Swapstories, Haglöfs is offering the opportunity to let someone else both use the product and discover its story.

Each product has its own story
When a used product is given away to the Haglöfs store in Stockholm, the previous owner gets to write a story about what they have experienced together with the product. No story is too big or too small, and it can be anything from someone's big expedition to someone's first field trip. You can submit your story in advance via the Swedish Haglöfs website, where you also can go in and read other people's stories. Interesting stories will also gradually be made available on the Haglöfs Facebook page.
"Swapstories by Haglöfs is a creative spin on selling used Haglöfs products. It gives more users the opportunity to own classic Haglöfs products - and get an exciting story on top of that. At the same time, it is a nice way to contribute financially to the people who really need it," commented Nicolas Warchalowski, CEO of Haglöfs.

All proceeds go to charity
Customers who give away a used Haglöfs product will get a 20 percent discount on a new product in the store. The proceeds of selling the used product in the store go straight to one of two charity projects of the buyer's choice, Vi-skogen or Projekt Åredalen .
"Swapstories combines sustainability, charity, and storytelling. It is an initiative that comes from Haglöfs employees and serves as further proof that the responsibility we take and our sustainability ambitions really are a part of our day-to-day business," commented Lennart Ekberg, Director of Sustainability at Haglöfs.
